Antoine LeCoultre created the LeCoultre brand in 1833, which originally created movement blanks or unfinished movements for some of Switzerland's most prestigious watchmaking houses such as Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe. LeCoultre merged with Jaeger in 1937 to form Jaeger-LeCoultre and went on to become the brand we know and love today, though until the 1980s Jaeger-LeCoultre reserved the name “Jaeger” only on their watches destined for the United States.

The Jaeger Master Mariner was created in celebration of the Jaeger brand's 125th anniversary and has taken on many shapes and variants over its production period, all featuring an aesthetic that married sophistication and utility in one.

CASE & BRACELET

This lightly polished gold-capped case is in excellent condition, retaining full and even lugs. The original stamped gold crown is in excellent condition. The fluted 14k gold bezel is in excellent condition, revealing minimal and honest signs of use. The engraved caseback is crisp, legible and charmingly reads 'Karl Sertic, La Jolla Beach Tennis Club, 1972, 16 Yrs Service". The watch comes supplied on a two-piece handmade Italian leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The clean silver dial is in excellent condition and shows minimal signs of age with a slight patina beginning to develop around the base of the hands and around the outer edges of the dial. The gold indices, date window, and fonts are in excellent condition. The original gold hands are in beautiful condition.
