This 1971 Rolex Datejust ref. 1600 retains its original and very rare glossy black "pie-pan" dial that features beautiful silver printing. CASE & BRACELET

The excellent case retains thick and symmetrical lugs that exhibit minimal signs of previous polishing and light signs of honest use. The smooth stainless steel bezel shows gentle signs of use and is in wonderful overall condition. The domed crystal presents the dial beautifully and gives the watch slightly more symmetry than with the traditional cyclops crystal. The watch comes supplied on a 2pc black alligator strap with a steel Rolex tang buckle.

DIAL & HANDS

The original glossy black "pie-pan" dial is simply exceptional, showing no damage and no notable signs of use. The dial also retains its original mirror-like glassy finish. The tritium lume plots have achieved a lovely golden-yellow patina with no degradation present when inspected under U.V. light. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and show no degradation when inspected under U.V. light. The metallic date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
