EBEL & Paul Breguette
The Swiss watch brand Ebel was founded in 1911 by Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy (the name "Ebel" comes from their initials: Eugène Blum et Lévy). Starting in 1929, Ebel sold watches under the Paul Breguette name, specifically for the American market. However, the exact duration of this arrangement remains unclear.
Paul Breguette was a well-known jewelry and watch retailer, originally based in Pennsylvania. According to Leon Dunleavy, a former employee of Kay Jewelers, the company acquired the Paul Breguette name in Switzerland in 1938.
Owned by Kay Jewelers of Pennsylvania, the brand utilized Swiss-made, well-finished movements, including high-grade calibers from prestigious manufacturers such as Girard-Perregaux. While the movements were initially cased in Switzerland, later production shifted to the United States.
During the mid-20th century, Paul Breguette became a notable name in the watch industry, recognized for its quality craftsmanship and elegant designs. The brand focused on producing stylish, reliable wristwatches for both men and women, often featuring intricate dials, luxurious materials, and precise Swiss-made movements—a testament to its commitment to excellence.

Vintage ladies Paul Breguette cocktail wristwatch, all in 14K yellow gold.
It is 2-hand battery watch powered by an ETA quartz movement caliber 280.002, 5 jewels, unadjusted, Swiss made. It has a fresh battery SR616SW.
It features a gold dial with gold baton hour markers and contrasting with black hands. The dial is signed with the Paul Breguette logo and “Quartz”.
Cased in a 14K yellow gold 11x16mm oval shape case and texturing bezel, along with fancy lugs beautifully decorated with white gold and three single cut diamonds top and bottom. Gold crown with blue cabochon.
Also, in 14K yellow gold, the integrated bracelet, three rope chains place together on each side along with a jewelry clasp. The bracelet will fit a wrist up to 5 1/2" (14cm).
